VITA

Paul Szynka studied law at the University of Passau. His vocational training took place at an automotive company, a Magic Circle firm as well as renowned IP firms in Germany and China.

Paul Szynka is a partner at CBH in Munich since 2021. For several years, the focus of his work has been on patent litigation. Aside from various infringement actions, in particular relating to the enforcement of European patents against international competitors in Germany, he regularly acts in nullity and inspection proceedings.

Legal 500 features him as „Next Generation Partners“ and recommends “sound advice” as well as “quick response time”. He is “Rising Star 2023” (IP Stars) and part of the “Ones to Watch 2024” (BestLawyers).

CBH’s patent litigation team is being recommended regularly: “The team of IP lawyers at this national full-service firm is very well established in the German patent market with two clear specialties. The Cologne team led by Jens Kunzmann enjoys an outstanding position in advice on employee invention law. In Munich, CBH has a well-regarded team for infringement proceedings and nullity suits led by senior partner Stephan Gruber and Hannes Jacobsen.” (JUVE Patent 2023); “The team of CBH has the client’s best interest in mind when advising on patent litigation. CBH’s attorneys cooperate with the client and the patent attorneys team to find solutions in line with the client’s economic goals”, “CBH’s team is optimally composed. Stephan Gruber is something of a legend in patent litigation and tangibly passes on his experience to his younger colleagues – when working together, I see that the team works excellently.” (Legal500 2023).
