Werner M. Mues studied law at the University of Cologne and completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne.
His admission to the bar also marked the beginning of his career at CBH in Cologne. In the field of labour law, he specialises in works constitution and co-determination, in drafting contracts under labour law and in the termination of employment relationships and protection against dismissal. The focus of his activities as a lawyer lies in particular in the constant support of companies in their personnel work under labour law and in litigation before the labour courts of all instances. Werner M. Mues has been a specialist lawyer for labour law since 1988, author of numerous scholarly articles and speaker at various labour law events, in particular at the German Lawyers’ Institute (DAI). At the DAI, he has been organising the annual “Forum Betriebsverfassungsrecht” since 2005 with well-known experts from jurisprudence and academia.
Werner M. Mues is co-author of the Handbook Kündigungsrecht (Verlag Dr Otto Schmidt), co-author of the Frankfurter Kommentar zur Insolvenzordnung as well as of the Handbook des Fachanwalts Insolvenzrecht (both: Luchterhand Verlag). He is one of the authors of the journal “Arbeitsrechtsberater” and regularly publishes comments on new decisions.
Werner M. Mues is a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Arbeitsrecht im Deutschen Anwaltverein and a member of the Deutscher Arbeitsgerichtsverband.
