Laura Delpy studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich.
During her studies, she laid the foundation for her specialization in intellectual property law by choosing the area of specialization “Competition Law, Intellectual Property and Media Law”. In addition, she deepened her knowledge in this field by working in two Munich law firms focusing on intellectual property law in trademark law as well as copyright and media law.
She completed her legal clerkship at the Düsseldorf Regional Court with internships in law firms in Düsseldorf, Munich and Spain. During her legal clerkship Laura Delpy worked for a law firm specializing in intellectual property law in Düsseldorf in trademark, competition and patent law. In addition, she expanded her experience in this field through her training in the civil chamber of the Düsseldorf Regional Court responsible for matters of name and trademark law as well as unfair competition. After completing her legal clerkship, Laura Delpy completed the specialist legal training course “Intellectual Property Law” and at the same time worked as a research assistant in an IP law firm in Düsseldorf in trademark, competition and copyright law.
Laura Delpy has been an attorney in CBH’s practice group “Intellectual Property, Media & IT” since 2014. Her practice focuses in particular on trademark and sign law at both national and EU level as well as competition law. In this context, she advises domestic and foreign companies in judicial and extrajudicial competition and trademark infringement disputes as well as in trademark application and cancellation proceedings. She is also involved in the drafting and negotiation of delimitation agreements. In addition to her work as a lawyer, Laura Delpy publishes articles on various topics of intellectual property law. She is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht e.V.). (GRUR).
In 2020, Laura Delpy was awarded the “Women in Law Award” in the field of “Intellectual Property” for Germany by the international legal publication “Lawyer Monthly”. In addition, the international magazine “Managing Intellectual Property” recognized her as a “Rising Star” in the IP Stars Ranking in 2021.
