Dr Cornelia Wellens studied Landscape Ecology and Law in Münster. Her first degree course gave her focus on planning and environmental law.
Prior to joining CBH, she worked as a research assistant at the Central Institute for Spatial Planning at the University of Münster, where her scholarship focussed on planning law issues, while she also advised municipalities.
She advises on all legal questions that arise on the way to the creation of building rights. She accompanies investors in the process of drawing up development plans, e.g. for residential areas. Her activities also comprise legal project development and the legal management of conflicts of use, e.g. emissions. She also advises on planning law issues in retail development. She is also CBH’s specialist in nature conservation law, including the areas of species protection, protected areas and impact regulation.
