Prof. Dr. Kurt Bartenbach

Since the beginning of his work as a practising lawyer Prof. Bartenbach has been primarily concerned with Industrial Property Law. He focuses on the Law on Employee Inventions (in particular inventors’ rewards, company guidelines, inventions of groups of companies), the Law on Licence Agreements as well as the Law on Research and Development Contracts (formulation and negotiation of contracts).

He is the author, resp. co-author, of various standard works of recognized commentaries on these subjects. A further focus is his work as external expert and mediator.

Prof. Bartenbach is honorary professor at Cologne University and lecturer at Düsseldorf University. He also teaches at the Hagen FernUniversität on their training programme for patent lawyers. He is chairman of the Committee of Experts on Inventors' Rights of the German Association for Industrial Property Law and Copyright and a member of the German Ministry of Justice's working party on the Law on Employee Inventions. He is also head of "Patentrechtliche Arbeitskreise“, a forum for further training and discussion for companies and patent lawyers.

With regard to Employment Law his activities focus on advising board members and executive directors.
