Christian Schmitt studied law at Freiburg, Lausanne and Cologne Universities. After his legal traineeship and passing his second state law examination in the Cologne Regional Court district he was admitted to the bar in 2005. Since then he has been employed at CBH.

Christian Schmitt works in the field of Industrial Property Law, with special emphasis on Competition Law. Another focus of his work is Media, Copyright and Gambling Law.

He is co-author of the Commentary on Gambling Law published by C. H. Beck Verlag. He has also published widely in this field. In seminars and on further training courses he lectures on New Media Law.
