Prof. Dr. Winfried Pinger

Prof. Winfried Pinger studied and obtained his doctorate (Dr.) at Cologne University. After the second state law examination he was admitted to the bar and started a course as a private tutor, preparing students for their first state law examination. In 1968 he agreed with the faculty of law to move this preparatory course to Cologne University, and this continues to the present day as the so-called "Großer Klausurenkurs“.

In 1972 he qualified as a university lecturer (habilitation) at Cologne University and in 1974 was called to the chair for Civil Law and the Law on Civil Proceedings at Bielefeld University. He is the author of numerous publications.

In 1976 he became a member of the German Bundestag and was a member of its Committee on Legal Affairs, amongst other things.
Since 1984 he is again practising as a lawyer. At CBH he concentrates on the Law of Company Succession and Inheritance Law in particular. He is chairman of the Cologne Association for Inheritance Law and the Law of Company Succession and also chairman of the supervisory board of a large stock corporation.
