Dieter Maier-Peveling
- Banking Law
- Insolvency Advice
- Commercial and Company Law
Dieter Maier-Peveling studied at Münster and Cologne Universities. Since being admitted to the bar in 1990 he initially worked in the Cologne office, prior to taking over the management of the newly founded Cottbus office. In the beginning his work focussed on supporting clients with regard to the Law of the new Federal States. The Treuhandanstalt (in charge of privatization of state-owned enterprises in the former GDR) entrusted him with the liquidation of several of these. This activity led to increasing specialization concerning advice and representation in cases of insolvency.
Within the framework of his activities as a member and subsequently as chairman of the supervisory board of a public cooperative bank he had to deal with legally demanding and difficult questions in Banking Law and - specifically - the Law on Collateral Security. Not least due to this type of work Real Estate Law became a further focus.
As mediator or arbitrator to settle disputes arising between partners and stakeholders Dieter Maier-Peveling is a much sought-after partner to supervisory bodies of companies. He also advises and represents clients in disputes concerning Company Law and Inheritance Law. Mr. Maier-Peveling is a member of the Inheritance Law Study Group of the German Lawyers' Association.
